May the force of the Magi be with you!

Sunday we were supposed to head to Splash Country at Dollywood. BUT the weather man had other plans for us. We awoke to cool weather and cloudy skies. NOT a good combo when going to a water park in the mountains!! We debated on what to do. Should we go since we already had the tickets? What if it thundered like the weather man was saying?? The cool temp is what finally got us. The thought of putting our butts in cold water with no sun to warm us was just not appealing. So Todd and I talked with the kids on what to do instead and off we headed to the mountains for some horse back riding!! The 1st time on a real trail horse for all the kids. Even Delaney got her own horse....lead by the leader. She thought she was hot stuff! I was worried that she might not make an hour horse back ride but the leader handled that by putting her all the way in the front and Todd and I in the rear! LOL! Either I could not hear her complaints or she wouldn't bother to voice them to a stranger! But she loved it.

This was a new arrival when we got there.......

Now Todd and I have been riding before. A dude ranch several times on vacations. I am no horse back rider to be certain but I know the basics. On the dude ranch they were simple and well trained trail horses. Their goal is to only follow the butt of the horse ahead of them and never shall they be swayed otherwise. Simple enough.

These trail horses.........not so well trained. They spent their time chewing on grass and could care less if you pulled them away! And for your mean effort of ruining their snack time, they tried their best to wack you off their back into any tree, bush or fence they could find! Nothing is more fun than trying to stay on the back of a horse while being snacked in the face with a tree branch going down the side of a mountain! Fun! They most certainly had horns hidden somewhere! But it got a laugh from us as we tried to pretend we were in control of them rather them in control of us. And the view was beautiful. Nothing can beat the quiet ride in the mountains on a cool summer day!

After, we met up with Mimi and Papa for some icecream and then headed to what turned into the kids obsession of the week......and adults too should they be honest enough to admit it...........*da da da* (roll the intro music) MAGIQUEST! *OOOOOO! AHHHHHH!* Can you feel the goose bumps yet?? A live, interactive video game where you carry a Magi wand around a building set up like forests, towns and dungeons looking to solve quests and win!!

To be honest, "some of us" were at Magiquest 3 times that week. Not going to mention any names *cough cough Todd*

The boys still have to beat the dragon and so Ryan and Kevin came home with the goal to find the new Magiquest that opened in NJ with the idea that they shall find and tame the beast that ate them both twice in TN!

And if you got bored with chasing dragons and saving the princess, you could go below and play some Pirate golf or get lost in a maze of mirrors which was probably just as fun as searching for gold with a magic wand!

It was a fun 1st day...........
So butter those biscuits and come back for more adventure to come........
